Film Synopsis

Waai' tells the story of the last four Waai singers in India, belonging to a Muslim nomadic community from Kutch. The film honours this rare musical form while bearing witness to the community's efforts to transmit their endangered legacy to future generations. Rooted in the rhythms and memory of a nomadic way of life, the film raises urgent questions about cultural survival, the fragility of oral traditions, and what is lost when a singular voice falls silent.
