Film Synopsis

In a small Georgian village, summer is the season of wild plums, Tkemali, and the annual gathering of grandchildren from the city and abroad. Grandmother Ketevan, blessed with only daughters and granddaughters, spends the season perfecting her Tkemali sauce while her well-meaning city-raised grandchildren try to help. With Russia's war against Ukraine casting a shadow over Georgia, the film follows elderly women living alone as they cook, bottle, and hold onto traditions that feel more precious and more vulnerable than ever.
