Film Synopsis

Solar Shadows' follows an Indigenous-descendant physicist, a centenarian Guarani shaman, and a Dessana Amazonian leader on an immersion through ancient astronomy. Connecting communities across north and south Brazil, the film explores Indigenous celestial knowledge and the people who hold it, revealing contrasts and connections between First Nations sciences and Western cosmologies under conditions of ongoing threat.
