Film Synopsis

Mahima Alekha' follows Mahima sadhus and disciples as they journey to Mahima Gadi in Joranda, Odisha, gathering each year during Magha Sukla Chaturdashi and Purnima. Rooted in the 19th-century reformist movement of Mahima Dharma, the film immerses viewers in ascetic rituals, devotional chants, and the metaphysical poetry of blind mystic Bhima Bhoi. It also confronts the sect's contemporary tensions as modernity and shifting values test the resilience of timeless spiritual ideals.
