Film Synopsis

As climate change accelerates, weather across the planet is becoming more extreme, more violent and less predictable. In the opening episode of the series, on the American prairies, a burrowing owl mother must use her extraordinary hearing and a network of underground burrows to save her scattered chicks from intensifying tornadoes. In Kenya, two veteran cheetah brothers face record-breaking floods, forcing them to swim raging rivers and confront deadly rivals, before one, hunting alone, uses the storms to his advantage. In the Arctic, a young polar bear loses the summer sea ice she depends on and is driven to stalk reindeer on land, pushing her body to the limits. And in drought-stricken Senegal, a troop of chimpanzees dig wells and descend into abandoned gold mines in a desperate search for water.
