Film Synopsis

Inspired by a true story, an elderly widow in World War II works as an air raid warden, bearing witness to the suffering of children and others in crowded shelters. One morning she discovers a dying sparrow and resolves to nurse it back to health. As the bird gradually recovers, a bond grows between them, sustained and deepened by the shared language of her piano playing.
