Mr. Jurij Meden (Slovenia)


Jurij Meden was born in Yugoslavia and is now based in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He is a film scholar, writer, programmer and film-maker. He is the programme director of the Slovenian Cinematheque. He is also the founder and member of the editorial board of KINO! which is a magazine for cinema, politics and poetry. Meden is also a member of the editorial board of the Ekran film magazine. He is member of the programming committees of several film festivals, most notably the Ljubljana International Film Festival and Isola Cinema Festival. He is a translator and editor of several books on cinema. Meden is also a film-maker. His films include Karl Marx Among Us (2013), A Normal Film(2012), Tree Again… and Again… (and Three Birds) (2011), A Conversation with Lav Diaz about Batang West Side (2005) and Don’t Worry, Sergei Pavlovich, Everything Will Be Fine (2002).
