This session explore how the filmmaker Mr. Jiri Trnka who is known as the ‘The Walt Disney of Eastern Europe’ was able to exploit the potentials and limits of traditional Czech theater puppets, from a cinematographic perspective, by making them a unique and powerful form of language, which still remains a major influence in contemporary Eastern European animation.’ He is renowned for his short films and animation films where he made it into the Cannes Short Film of the year of Zviratka a Petrovsti in 1946 itself!!
